Wichita Falls PRCA Announces New Dates for 2021

WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – The Wichita Falls PRCA Rodeo Association is excited to announce its plan to move forward with the 2021 Wichita Falls PRCA Rodeo, August 20-21 at Kay Yeager Coliseum.

After being shut down in 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we’re coming back with an even BIGGER rodeo for 2021. We excited to rodeo again and we think our contestants and fans are ready to rodeo as well.

New this year, we are one of seven North Texas rodeos that have been selected as “qualifier rodeos” for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) prestigious, bracket-style tournament. The winner, or highest-ranking finisher in each event not having otherwise qualified, will earn a spot in the tournament that paid contestants more than $1.2 million in 2020.

“The Stock Show’s professional rodeo is now in the top five rodeos in the nation based on contestant payout,” said FWSSR’s President and General Manager, Brad Barnes. “Our qualifier system allows us to provide all rodeo contestants a chance to compete at a major rodeo for a significant purse. We’re excited to provide a shot at a Fort Worth championship to as many of these hard-working men and women as possible as well as highlighting these seven North Texas rodeos and their hard working committees.”
